Our Infant Induction days will be Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd May 

Infant Enrolment

Children who turn 5 years between 1st March 2024 and 28th February 2025 will be due to start school in August 2023.
You must register your child online for their catchment school, provide their full birth certificate and 2 current proofs of residency for the parent completing the registration. Registration and details regarding deferrals and placing requests to a school other than your catchment school can be found online via the South Lanarkshire Council website.

Please note the following points:

• If you deferred your child last year you must re-enrol them online again with up to date residency documents, for starting this year.
• You will require your child's FULL Birth Certificate detailing parents names, an abbreviated copy of the certificate is not acceptable.
• You will require 2 recent proofs of residency (no more than 6 months old) for the parent who is completing the registration  eg, council tax notice, utility bill (not a mobile phone bill), bank statement
• You must register your child at your catchment primary school even if you are applying for a placing request to another school. Information on placing requests within South Lanarkshire Council can be found here. A place at Woodside Primary does not guarantee your child a place at our local secondary school, Hamilton Grammar, as secondary school placing is dependant on your home address.

Please note there is no option for children to attend a secondary school by association. A space will be reserved for each child to attend the catchment secondary school allocated. This is determined by the child’s permanent home address and chosen denomination. If you wish them to attend a different school they should submit a placing request.
If you think your child will require a place on the school bus for Hamilton Grammar, please click here and apply as soon as possible.

We work closely with Hamilton Grammar to ensure a smooth transition of our pupils to high school, with several events and visits throughout their Primary 7 year, Please note that a place at Hamilton Grammar is not guaranteed for pupils at Woodside Primary, secondary school placing is determined by your home address, not the primary school they attend.
